Epson are none new comers to the multifunctional printer market they were one of the first to offer an affordable all-in-one inkjet printer, so you would expect there latest offering the Stylus SX405 to be something special.  The first thing you notice is that the SX405 is amazingly compact and as a result it has a good design that doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb like some all-in-ones from other manufacturers. A weakness of this type of printer from Epson the past has always been expensive running costs and this hasn’t really changed. Although in recent years has seen Epson switch to an individual ink system which does make replacing printer ink cartridges more economical, but the price of the replacement ink cartridges hasn’t change much. A set of Epson SX405 ink cartridges costs over £30 for genuine Epson products but you can pick up a set of compatible Epson ink cartridges for around £15. The SX405 brings a new feature not seen before on Epson printers and that is direct photo printing from a memory card which can be previewed before printing on the built-in 6cm LCD screen. The SX405 printing capabilities are excellent and its probably the best in it class in terms of print quality, when uses the correct media printing photos the quality is amazing. The scanning capabilities of the SX405 are equally impressive with it high resolution A4 flat bed scanner producing great results for al types of scanned documents. The photo copier make use of the same flat bed scanner which aids it in producing great quality copies with ease, although the copier is limited to 9 copies at a time and it a little bit slow so not best suited for large quantities on a regular basis. The photo copier is another one of the PC-free functions of the SX405 which is one of the many reasons it will be a hit with users looking for versatility and value for money.
